Believe the Beat: a documentary
10.20.2011

Believe the Beat is the upcoming feature length documentary from the Urban Body Project. UBP is an organization that uses multi media tools and creative collaboration to illuminate the bridge between dance and community. Believe the Beat teamed up with earthlyrelm on the soundtrack, corrinne theodoru on the editing and Filipi Moura Líma, Nobru De Souza, and Danilo D'alma on production coordination in Rio and the Czech Republic. The film is well on its way to completion, but like most independent projects we're looking to raise some funds as well as awareness to make it all happen. How we gonna do that? With kickstarter of course.

Check out the video below and be sure to pass it on... to people with money. joking, you can share it with poor people too. Thank you to everyone involved for supporting this amazing project.

wood: planter box
9.12.2011

been busy building here at the studio. the latest project was this 8 foot long planter box designed and built by anthony demarco for a client. built with all untreated wood, it took about 10 2x4's and 2 full sheets of 4'x8' 1/2" plywood and screws. completed in just under 10 hours, not including the time it'll take to figure out how to get it in the truck and deliver it to portland.

we know this isn't music, art, or apparel… well, it's a kind of art, but still, we figure that it fits the mission of earthlyrelm, which is to create using natural or recycled materials, with a genuine love for the process of using left and right brain and a couple of human hands. and in this case hand crafting something to fill with dirt and grow new earth in. who knows, maybe earthlyrelm will become a garden supply shop.

wood: boxes
7.27.2011

as you may have heard, the earthlyrelm headquarters found a new home in Nehalem on the Oregon Coast. aside from the ocean, fresh mountain air, magic trees, and frolicking baby deer that join us for coffee and pancakes every morning, the best addition to our shop is a great outdoor work bench with plenty of scrap wood.
I came across 2 full sheets of 1/2" thick plywood and decided to take advantage of our beautiful work space. the image below is a link to more photos of the finished product. I would love to sell these on the site... but im sure shipping cost would be too expensive. however, if your in or around the Portland area and want to buy some of these, holler at earthlyrelm@gmail.com

all signs point to fresh: a blog
6.24.2011

this ongoing photography project by me, anthony demarco is exactly what the title implies... signs that point. theres so many fresh old signs around town, I see them everywhere and just wanted a way to capture them before they get demolished along with the shops they belong to. I been shooting the signs I see first with the instagr.am app, which makes for an easy and quick tumblr post, and then with my holga 120 film camera. I would love to eventually create a book with the developed photos taken with the holga.

this project is why I love to drive now, I take new routes to new neighborhoods with the hopes that I spot signs in the shape of an arrow. peep the blog and i'll keep uploading new shots.
